Portaferry, Ireland

Here I am with Belén. She and I started hanging out last year in Santiago so she could work on her English and I could work on my Spanish. Even though I haven't known her very long it feels like I've known her forever. She's been working in Ireland since May and this past weekend I had a chance to go for a quick visit. We had a blast catching up and laughing and walking all over the Ards Peninsula. Thanks Belén for a great weekend!Posted by Picasa

In front of Fiddler's my first night in Portaferry. This is one of the local pubs where everyone gathers for a pint and live music at the end of the day. Usually there's just one or two conversations going on in the whole place. Posted by Picasa

Live music at Fiddler's. These guys would play guitar, mandolin, the tin whistle and the accordian. They played everything from Irish folk songs to Lynyrd Skynyrd and Coldplay. Posted by Picasa

That's me, Marta, Belén and Toni. Belén and Marta grew up together in Barcelona. Posted by Picasa

After taking the picture of Buena Vista, I turned around and took the picture of the view from the house. Posted by Picasa

After breakfast on Saturday we took Harvey, the dog, for a walk up the hill above the village to Portaferry Castle which dates from the 16th century. Amazing views. Posted by Picasa
